Different Angles

From this angle, I feel like I have recently make a wrong decision, therefore I am paying the price now...
It's sucks, not fun at all to be stucked &%^^^#@

From another angle, I feel lucky and thankful.
I don't have to pay the price for my whole life...
It's a blessing, isn't it?

See things from different angles as the world is round.
Good or bad, hard to say :)

Cheer up Amy!

Listen to your Heart

Sometimes you realize that you can't get the thing fixed, so you quit
When you realize you might be able to fix, you have already quit
So who make the decision whether to fix or quit?
Is you.

Follow you heart closely..... listen to it when it tries to talk to you
listen, quietly, listen, few more times....

Take a break at the 1st observatory deck
Still a long way to hike

Waikiki Beach from The Top of Diamond Head. Beautiful!

Whale Watching

Whale watch is one of the activities that I looked forward since I knew I am coming to Hawaii. We found a dive shop that operates this activity and immediately decided to join. There were 15 from my school and a few of others. The moment I got in to the boat, I knew it's going to be something 'wrong' later as the boat was small. How can such a small boat sail well in an ocean? The first few minutes, everyone was so excited and took alot of pictures.

About 15 minutes later, I started to feel sea sick. But the scenery is so beautiful so I wanted to take a few pictures before I got really bad.

Houses along the beach and on the hills. After the first 20 min, I got really sick and started to feel like throwing up. And the whole journey later, I got really uncomfortable and keep throwing up for around 10 times but nothing has came out except few times I throw up some liquid. Yuk!
The girl from France, Neg was also sitting next to me at the 'sick people area' and throwing up. It was kind of funny when I recall the situation on the boat. We were so sick but when both throwing up, we have to be careful so that we don't throw up on others' faces.

We don't have fate with the whales but saw double rainbows almost towards the end of the journey. Whale watching has became rainbow watching. Though it's a bad expereince, but is good memory.

Kapiolani Farmers Market

Visited to Kapiolani Farmers Market this morning. Woke up my bed rather early at 6:45am in order to catch the bus from school at 7:15am. It's a field trip for the course 509 Special topics - Innovation.

There's nothing special or vow for this market but we were given an assignment to watch the Gemba and create the values. The weather was great, the atmosphere is pleasant. My team finally defined it as a place that offers sensory delights, treasure hunt experience, to see, to be seen and to belong to.

Everyone seems to be getting something to eat at the market so did I. I had bought a pack of Taro Mouchi and salmon fried rice for my lunch. After we watch the Gamba, we headed back to school for Y-Gaya and presentation. It's a very good experience of Y-gaya in which you have to work together with so many people who came from different backgrounds and how you not offence them but able to express your thoughts.

Conclusion is, Prof. Kobayashi encourage us to always ask ourselves 2 questions wherever we go in the future:

1) What is the values of this place/ why so many people want to come here?
2) What is the future values (in 10 - 15 years)?

Alright, I think I have to go back to my studies...alot more to do and read before I can go out for sightseeing tomorrow

The Spirit of Honda - INNOVATION

Attended a very insightful special topic today. The speaker is the creator of Honda airbag system, Saburo Kobayashi. His talk is very interesting and we have listened to more than 20 times of 'STUPID' came out from his mouth during the whole day session. The topic is memorable and so is he. Beside teaching us 'stupid', he shared his very personal direct experience with the INNOVATION process of airbag research during his late 30. The few points I summarize below is just about 5% of his talk for today, but is enough for us to think about it DEEPLY:

A00 = Missionary statement/ basic requirement - essential concept & philosophy (Essence pursuit

What's Your Opinion?
Prof. Nonaka:"Knowledge can be acquired only through high quality direct experience which gives a great influence on your view of life."

Say It Simply - Essential / Conceptual
"If you can not explain simply to a non professional, you do not understand it essentially" said Mr. Honda.

Engineer is to research people and people's values, the future values of customers in 10 or 15 years ahead. To become an innovator, you are to innovate something NEW, not to study competitors' strategies.

Leader should be an artist (no logic but innovative)

MBA is stupid!

Creation does not come from logical discussion, majority decision or consensus.

Passion & Chaos Vs. Cool & Well-organised (Innovator Vs. MBA)

Creativity come from irrational "passion or spirits"

Snowman theory - Wisdom motivation. To make a difficult/ tough job full of fun and fruitful

And the last one is for MANAGERS:
To MANAGE people is irreverent & rude!
- must consider the human psychology/ emotion in order to success

No one has fall asleep today as he has carried his talk full of passion! If you want someone to point a fingure to your top management and say "Stupid!", please bring him to your company. And let him wake up those 'logical' leaders.

Hope you able to pick up something here.

This is another angle. The full mirror on the sliding wardrobe door is just perfect!

March 27 Pearl Harbour > China Town > Down town

The background of where I stood in the picture is where the American battleships sunk during WWII. Arizona Memorial is built on top of the sunken ship. The day I visited is sunny, the history of the past is sad...

Here is the Arizona Memorial specially built as a remembrance to those who sacrified

It's a real one!

hmm...this one. I just thought is cute

Had Malaysian food - Wan Tan Mee, in Chinatown and the women sat beside us initial a chat with us because she thought my friend is a HK singer (Haken Lee). We kind of 'dap toi' (share table) with them.
